Towards the tidal thames
parrots in Staines ?
Two men in a boat
Moondaisy getting very excited, what with a new anchor and chain, and radio contact with the Thames Barrier - like a real ship !
Went through Eton and Windsor ( at the same time) this lunchtime - as usual, nowhere to stop - the Queen has all the best moorings and you can't use them. We fuelled up, as well. Coffee on the terrace at the marina was £3-75 each - only one short of the dearest coffee ever , in Paris. Won't be doing that again.
Managed a pub lunch for the first time in 4 weeks, which was good. We had to re-stock, as we were almost at the point of eating the shelves. We need to be at Teddington for a 9.15 start on Thursday.
Crew #3 excellent and is cooking tonight. Air traffic overhead is horrendous - imagine paying millions of pounds for a house on the Thames and being deafened all day........
Just before mooring up, passing through Staines, we were more than surprised to see a flock of parrots in the trees ( no, we had not had a drink). There were loads of them - all green, though a bity far away to photograph. The exotic sight and sounds contrasted with the drab suburban crap which people have built next to the river around Staines.
