After one final bit of displacement activity - work at St.Helens, the first crew arrived at Nantwich on 16th. Unfortunately, the station is next to a pub...... Curry followed cider and a start was delayed until the following day.

The Audlem flight of locks - "Audlem Thick" was pleasant for me, as all I had to do was steer. Heavy, persistent rain had the by-washes flowing fast, however, which makes getting into the locks tricky. Still, I can always re-paint the boat.
